In appreciation of our rich and cultural diversity lets celebrate Diwali!

Diwali Night is November 3, 2023

followed by a luncheon for our amazing teachers! 





Diwali, also known as the Festival of Lights, is celebrated by over a billion people around the world. Diwali is the biggest festival for Hindus across the globe and is also celebrated by Sikhs, Jains and some Buddhists. Diwali celebrates the victory of good over evil, light over darkness, positivity, and the light we all have within. There are five days of Diwali and several stories associated with the holiday.

Participation: Leal Students can participate in 3 different ways:

  • A Cultural performance with their grade level

  • A fashion show: Students will be part of a fun filled fashion event. This is a great way to participate if your child is not comfortable dancing. We may be able provide the participant an outfit

  • Speak at event (introduce performances, MC, etc.) 4-6 grades preferred

This is a self-funded event, and we welcome any donation to support this event.  Any funds that remain will be contributed back to the LEAP program. 

  • November 3rd (6pm)Diwali Night -  Celebrating our colorful and diverse heritage with wonderful performances and delicious food!  Our invitation is open to all Leal families and friends.   The event will take place in the quad at Leal Elementary.
  • Date: TBD: Teachers Diwali Luncheon (Exclusive to Teachers/Admin)-  Parents of Leal show appreciation  for our  wonderful teachers and staff by providing them with a Diwali-themed luncheon. (More Information to follow)
