LEAP is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to making the arts accessible to all students at our school. We are led by dedicated parent volunteers and the amazing staff at Leal Elementary. We look forward to offering a full calendar of cultural celebrations and activities, along with engaging instructional art and theater classes for your students. What We Believe LEAP believes that every student should have access to quality arts education as part of a well-rounded learning experience. We believe the arts music, theater, and visual arts help students build confidence, creativity, discipline, and teamwork, while also supporting academic growth and personal expression. What We Do We fund programs such as Diwali Festival, Cultural Events, Lunar New Year events, Dance Drill Team, Fall and Spring Musicals, Festival of the World, Summer Camp Musical, Leal classroom and staff support, and various after-school classes for our Leal students. What is the difference between LEAP and Leal PTA? Each organization has a different mission in supporting LEAL, but the goal is the same. To create an excellent learning environment for your kids and support the staff and administrators. LEAP supports the arts (visual and performing) at the school to offer a variety of classes to the students. It is believed that exposure to music and visual arts promotes brain development that translates to a better understanding of academic subjects while building confidence, creativity, and more. PTA provides various valuable academic support tools to your students (IXL, Read Theory, Chromebooks, etc.) alongside various sponsored events. Both organizations collectively host multiple events during the year that translate to a lot of fun for the students and their families. Can you volunteer or support both? Yes! Both organizations need you! LEAP and PTA always look for parent support through your time and support. Each organization's "focus" is unique to each organization, and we work with our friends in PTA to ensure we provide a fun-filled calendar for your students.
