LEAP Afterschool Classes Guidelines

Thank you for choosing LEAP Afterschool Classes! Our goal is inspiring creativity through art and musical theater, helping students build confidence, develop new skills, and discover their passion for the arts in a fun and supportive environment.

1. Student Safety & Emergency Information

AEmergency Information Form is required for every student, and registration is not considered complete until the form has been submitted. Parents/guardians are responsible for providing accurate emergency contacts, medical information, and authorized pick-up persons, and must notify LEAP immediately if any of this information changes during the school year.

2. Registration & Enrollment

Registration is considered complete once all required registration information and the Emergency Information Form have been submitted and full payment has been received. Enrollment is first-come, first-served and subject to class availability, with one spot allowed per student in each class. Enrollment will be confirmed once all registration requirements have been completed. All enrolled students are welcome and have the opportunity to participate fully in their registered class and program activities.

Class schedules and tuition are based on the official LEAP program calendar and are offered as published. Tuition covers the complete course and is not calculated on a per-class basis. LEAP does not offer prorated tuition, refunds, or adjustments due to the number of class sessions, school holidays, student absences, or missed classes. Classes will be held according to the published LEAP calendar.

3. Payment Policy

Payment must be received within 24 hours of registration. Registrations that remain unpaid after 24 hours may be canceled, and the available spot may be offered to the next family on the waiting list.

Please review your class selection carefully before completing your registration. Once registration is submitted, changes or cancellations may be subject to LEAP’s cancellation and refund policies.

4. Refund Policy

Refund requests must be submitted in writing at least one (1) week before the class start date to leapafterschoolclasses@gmail.com, with a copy to leaptreasurer1@gmail.com and leapforleal@gmail.comRefund requests are considered only for valid circumstances and are not guaranteed. All requests must be reviewed and approved by the LEAP Board. If a refund is approved, it will be issued using the same payment method used for registration.

Once a class has started, no refunds will be issued, as instructor commitments, materials, and other program expenses have already been incurred. Refunds will also not be provided for missed classes, vacations, schedule conflicts, or personal reasons.

Submitting a refund request does not guarantee approval.

5. Attendance

Students are encouraged to attend every scheduled class to ensure they receive the full benefit of the program and maintain continuity in their learning.

Please notify LEAP if your student will be absent. Make-up classes, credits, or prorated tuition are not provided for missed classes. Any make-up class or schedule adjustment is at the discretion of the instructor and LEAP and is not guaranteed.

6.Student Pick-Up Policy

Students must be picked up promptly at the designated dismissal location at Gate 2, next to the school office.

Only adults listed on the Emergency Information Form may pick up a student.

Please notify the school office in advance if someone who is not listed on the Emergency Information Form will be picking up your child.

LEAP instructors will not pull students from daycare, other after-school programs, or other classes. Parents/guardians are responsible for ensuring that their student knows their LEAP class schedule and arrives at the designated location on time.

7.Late Pick-Up Policy

Parents/guardians are responsible for picking up students promptly at the scheduled dismissal time. A 10-minute grace period is provided after the scheduled class dismissal time. After the grace period, a $1.00 per-minute late pick-up fee will be charged for each minute the student remains under School/ Tutor supervision.

All late pick-up fees must be paid before the student’s next scheduled class. LEAP reserves the right to suspend participation in future classes until all outstanding late fees have been paid in full. Repeated late pick-ups may result in suspension or removal from LEAP classes.

Late pick-up fees will be strictly enforced, with no exceptions. Partner organizations may have different late pick-up policies and fees; please refer to their individual policies for details.

By registering for a LEAP class, parents/guardians acknowledge that they have read, understood, and agree to comply with the Student Pick-Up and Late Pick-Up Policies.

8. Student Behavior

To help create a positive learning environment, students are expected to:

  • Follow instructor directions.
  • Treat classmates, staff, and school property with respect.
  • Participate appropriately in class activities.
  • Use respectful language and behavior at all times.
Students who repeatedly display unsafe or disruptive behavior may be removed from LEAP classes at LEAP's discretion.

9. Class Changes

LEAP reserves the right to modify class schedules, instructors, classroom locations, or class offerings as necessary. Families will be notified of any significant changes as soon as reasonably possible.

10. Health & Safety

Students who are ill should remain home.

LEAP follows all current health and safety requirements established by Frank C. Leal Elementary School and ABC Unified School District.

Parents/guardians are responsible for keeping student health information current.
