Hello! My name is Ms. Guttentag. I created this class for students who enjoy writing creatively as well as students who would enjoy some enrichment in their writing techniques and styles. Throughout the course of this class, I will provide students with a variety of writing prompts for them to complete while I walk them through the steps of the writing process. I will be providing feedback for students to further improve their writing skills as well as encouraging students to dig deeper into their creative side and write stories about different interests they have. I am looking forward to meeting you all!

Hello! My name is Ms. Guttentag and I am teaching Kindergarten with Mrs. Stagnaro this year. I absolutely love art and am so excited to be leading an after school class where students are given the opportunity to be creative. In this class we will be building skills such as following one and two step directions through directed drawings as well as creating art projects using various mediums such as water color, oil pastels, ect. I hope students will enjoy creating wonderful art projects to bring home!

Students will develop basic to intermediate/advanced dance technique skills and vocabulary appropriate for their level. Students will be introduced to various styles, including jazz, hip-hop, and drill team dance genres. There is also a strong focus on developing student confidence while performing in front of large audiences. Skills learned will help prepare students for musical performances and middle school & high school dance/song/cheer/colorguard teams. Students will work together as a team and learn different dance routines that they will have the opportunity to perform at school & local events. They may even compete at a local Southern California dance competition in the spring.  Performances will also be shared with parents virtually as much as possible.

Ms. Montes, spent 8 years as the director for the National Champion Dance/Drill and All Male Dance Team at Cerritos High School. She has choreographed numerous national championship winning routines for the CHS team.  Ms. Montes is also teaching 6th grade at Leal and is an expert at finding the balance between working hard and having a good time.

Please note that attending the competition may require additional donations/payments to be made for materials and entry fees. Miss Montes would hold a meeting to discuss the details of this.

*If you are unsure if your child should sign up, please contact Miss Montes for further direction so that your child is best served in the correct class.
