Show Synopsis

Based on one of the most popular Disney movies of all time and the Broadway musical that played for over 2,500 performances and received multiple Olivier and Tony Awards nominations, Cameron Mackintosh and Disney's Mary Poppins is capturing hearts in a whole new way: as a practically perfect Broadway Junior musical!

The jack-of-all trades, Bert, introduces us to England in 1910 and the troubled Banks family. Young Jane and Michael have sent many a nanny packing before Mary Poppins arrives on their doorstep. Using a combination of magic and common sense, she must teach the family members how to value each other again. Mary Poppins takes the children on many magical and memorable adventures, but Jane and Michael aren't the only ones upon whom she has a profound effect. Even grown-ups can learn a lesson or two from the nanny who advises that "Anything can happen if you let it."

Cameron Mackintosh and Disney's Mary Poppins JR. is an enchanting mixture of irresistible story, unforgettable songs and breathtaking dance numbers. This show is a perfect opportunity to showcase a strong, iconic female performer, as well as unique special effects and illusions.

Registration, Audition Dates & Material

• Participation will be offered to the first 60 students to register.
• Registration is open to grades 2nd-6th only
• Paid registration fee guarantees a role in the musical
• Registration costs are a donation to LEAP non-profit
• If you require any assistance with the registration cost, please contact Leal admin for assistance (limited need based scholarships available upon meeting criteria)
• The auditions will be held on August 20 OR 21 1:50-3:50PM (please choose one on the registration page)
• Please register for 1 audition date per child auditioning
• Students auditioning must be accompanied by their parent or guardian until audition is complete
• Parent/Guardian may not accompany the student into the audition room (waiting space will be designated)
• Once audition is complete, the student may leave for the day.
• All students registered for the Fall Musical will be cast in the musical
• If not enough participants sign up, event may be cancelled.

Audition Process

• Register for ONE audition date per student.
• Arrive with your student at 1:50PM in the Leal quad to sign in. (Adult parent, guardian, or after school director must accompany the student to audition)
• Bring your printed & fully filled & signed contract to audition.
• NO CONTRACT = NO AUDITION
• Prepare a slate with your name, grade, and what you’ll be singing. Sing 30-60 seconds of a musical theatre or Disney song.
• Audition tracks (instrumental) may be sent to patrick.sales@abcusd.us (student name in subject line) or bring their own device with the track loaded.
• Auditions will be 1:1 with Mr. Sales
• Adult parent/guardian will remain with the student until their audition is complete
