LEAP Afterschool Classes Guidelines
Thank you for choosing LEAP Afterschool Classes! Our goal is to provide a safe, engaging, and enriching environment where students can learn, create, and grow. Please review the following guidelines before registering your child.
1. Student Safety & Emergency Informatio
- An Emergency Information Form is required for every student. Registration is not considered complete until this form has been submitted.
- Parents/guardians are responsible for providing accurate emergency contacts, medical information, and authorized pick-up persons.
- Please notify LEAP immediately if any of this information changes during the school year.
2. Registration & Enrollment

Registration is complete only after:
- All required registration information has been submitted.
- The Emergency Information Form has been completed.
- Full payment has been received.
- Enrollment is first-come, first-served and is based on class availability.
- Each student may register for one spot per class only.
- A student's enrollment will be confirmed once all registration requirements have been been completed.

Class schedules and tuition are set based on the official LEAP program calendar and are offered as published. Tuition is for the complete course and is not calculated on a per-class basis.

LEAP does not offer prorated tuition, refunds, or adjustments based on the number of class sessions, school holidays, student absences, or missed classes. Classes will be held according to the published LEAP calendar.
3. Payment Policy
- Payment must be received within 24 hours of registration. Registrations that remain unpaid after 24 hours may be canceled, and the student's spot may be offered to a family on the waiting list
- Please review your class selections carefully before completing your registration.
4. Refund Policy
- Refund requests must be submitted in writing to leapafterschoolclasses@gmail.com, with a copy to leaptreasurer1@gmail.com and leapforleal@gmail.com.
- Refund requests must be submitted in writing at least one (1) week before the class start date.
- Refunds are considered only for valid reasons and are not guaranteed.
- All refund requests must be reviewed and approved by a vote of the LEAP Board.
- If approved, refunds will be issued using the same payment method used for registration.
- Once a class has started, refunds will not be issued due to instructor commitments, purchased materials, and other program expenses.
- Refunds will not be provided for missed classes, vacations, schedule conflicts, or personal reasons.
Please note: Submitting a refund request does not guarantee approval.
5. Attendance
- Students are encouraged to attend every class.
- Please notify LEAP if your student will be absent.
- Make-up classes, credits, or prorated tuition are not available for missed classes. Any make-up classes or schedule adjustments are at the discretion of the instructor and LEAP and are not guaranteed.
6. Pick-Up & Dismissal
- Students must be picked up promptly at the designated dismissal location at Gate 2 next to the office.
- Only adults listed on the Emergency Information Form may pick up a student.
- Please notify School office in advance if someone not listed will be picking up your child.
- LEAP instructors will not pull students from daycare, other afterschool programs, or other classes. Parents/guardians are responsible for ensuring that their student is aware of their LEAP class schedule and arrives at the designated location on time.
Late Pick-Up Policy
- Parents/guardians are responsible for picking up students at the scheduled dismissal time.
- A 10-minute grace period is provided after class ends.
- After the grace period, a late pick-up fee of $1.00 per minute will be charged for each minute a student remains under LEAP supervision.
- All late fees must be paid before the student's next scheduled class.
- LEAP reserves the right to deny a student's participation in future classes until all outstanding late fees have been paid in full.
- Repeated late pick-ups may result in suspension or removal from LEAP classes.
- Late pick-up fees will be strictly enforced. No exceptions will be made. Partner organizations may have different late pick-up policies and fees. Please refer to their individual policies for details.
By registering, parents/guardians acknowledge that they have read, understood, and agree to comply with the Late Pick-Up Policy.
7. Student Behavior
To help create a positive learning environment, students are expected to:
- Follow instructor directions.
- Treat classmates, staff, and school property with respect.
- Participate appropriately in class activities.
- Use respectful language and behavior at all times.
Students who repeatedly display unsafe or disruptive behavior may be removed from LEAP classes at LEAP's discretion.
8. Class Changes
LEAP reserves the right to modify class schedules, instructors, classroom locations, or class offerings as necessary. Families will be notified of significant changes whenever possible.
9. Health & Safety
- Students who are ill should remain home.
- LEAP follows all current health and safety requirements established by Frank C. Leal Elementary School and ABC Unified School District.
- Parents/guardians are responsible for keeping student health information current.
10. Photo & Media Release
- By registering, parents/guardians acknowledge that photographs, videos, or audio recordings of students may be taken during LEAP activities for educational or promotional purposes. Student names will not be used without prior parent/guardian permission.
